Evaluation of the Norwegian Junior Expert Programme with UN Organisations

  • Publisert: 12.04.2010

In the 1950s the technical development programmes of the United Nations and associated specialised organisations introduced Junior Experts (JE). These JEs were intended to work for a period of 1-2 years in developing countries. The Norwegian JE Programme was initialed at a later stage - in 1963 - and the main target group aimed at young and higher educated persons but who had limited experience particular in their professional fields. The main tasks of the JEs were to work with and assist well qualified experts thereby gaining international development experience which would qualify them to form a pool of future experts.
