Information about the department
The Independent Evaluation Department of Norwegian Development Cooperation (EVAL) is responsible for commissioning and carrying out independent evaluations of activities funded through Norway’s development assistance budget.
The goal of the evaluation work is to promote learning and a knowledge-based Norwegian development cooperation, and to ensure the administrative accountability of the actors within Norwegian development policy.
The department reports directly to the Secretaries General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
While the department is administratively located within The Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation (Norec), it operates independently.
The office is located in Førde, Vestland.
